[sticky post] 2014 list of movies

I'm going to see how many movies I can watch this year / see if I can watch everything on AFI's 100 years, 100 movies list. I've already seen 39 of them. So I'm going to list everything I watch and * the ones that are on that list and this is the best place to track that. Suggestions welcome...I have seen around 570 movies and yet there's still tons of things I've yet to see. I have Netflix streaming, Amazon Prime, and HBO go also.

WATCHED SO FAR
1. LA Confidential
2. For A Good Time, Call...

DEFINITELY NEED TO WATCH
1. Brokeback Mountain (netflix)
2. The Godfather*
3. Rain Man (hbo)
4. Life of Pi (hbo)
5. Les Miserables (hbo)
6. Memento (netflix)
7. The Artist (netflix)
8. Hugo (netflix)
9. Melancholia (netflix)
10. Footloose (netflix)

HOCKEY CARD GIVEAWAYS

OKAY so I bought a big box on Amazon but it kind of sucked because a) 7 packs were duplicates in the box alone, meaning 5 of 6 cards weren't new in 7 packages. ridic. and b) it also repeated a whole bunch I got in a box I bought at Target. wtf? YOU SUCK AT MANUFACTURING.

So if you see your fave player plz plz plz get these out of here. I can only handle duplicates of my favorite players...as you can see by the lack of Thrashers and the two additional Max Talbots (one cannot take 3 of those okay), I am all for adoptions of doubles. If you love them.

My paypal account is compromised so if you want to send me like $.50 of thanks you're screwed right now. Thanks asshole for trying to take $620 from me.
if you want anything please first leave a comment so I see it faster to remove, and message me your address unless I have it from pucking xmas cards. If you are still waiting on cards from me from pucking, they're coming. Seriously.

I will be keeping track, several are duplicates, so if you see a comment where someone claimed one (ie Rinne) there is still another. I'll leave a comment every so often to say it's up to date.

Writing a blog never tasted so good.
I don't even want to know what full size versions of these dishes cost.

Oh yeah I updated for an entire five days straight and then I totally stopped. Sorry.

I've found that after I pay rent sometime this week I will have $80. I only had $3100 to begin with, and I started adding up stuff and it's ridiculous that I am expecting to be yelled at when I ask for money for now through as soon as I can get a loan.
For example food: I spent a total of $137 on food since March 22. That's practically 5 weeks, considering I don't have to go pick up any for probably another week. That's maybe getting something from a restaurant every week and a half to two weeks.
Essentially I had $1000 to spend on anything else, and $150 went to the bake sale and the hotel room for Joe's surprise. $86 went to Georgia State. $84 went to buying an external HD in case my laptop came back wiped out. Averaging $50 a week for 13-14 weeks plus just these expenses shows that I AM NOT JUST SPENDING MONEY LEFT AND RIGHT.
Yet when I say hey, after I pay May's rent, I'm out of money, I'm not going to hear the end of it.
I hope this cupcake bakery calls me tomorrow, ugh.
Yeah, those interviews I had? I thought they went well but apparently not.

O HEI

So yeah a lot of stuff has gone on since I last updated. My LCD got all screwed up on my laptop so it wasn't even working whatsoever, and Best Buy kept it for 22 days. IT SUCKED. I played my Game Boy Pocket a lot. I had my laptop on and I was ordering dinner to celebrate FINALLY GETTING INTO GEORGIA STATE, and then all of a sudden, it froze up and then shut itself off. I ate my lovely chicken vindaloo, and then I had to go up to Norcross to do accounting, and thankfully since it was about two weeks from the finish, I didn't need more than normal weekends at Joe's to finish everything.
I finally got it back Friday and I have just been reveling in looking at random shit on the internet again for the past few days. Now I am here. Hello livejournal.

So, on Feb 18, Joe took me to Morton's downtown and then surprised me with an overnight stay at the Marriott Marquis, which he filled rather well with alcohol, and I took horrifying advantage of this due to being unable to comprehend the idea of a hockey sudden death shootout, in which Russia was defeated by Slovakia. For some reason this was supposed to be a night of sex? I still am kind of pissed off that apparently that was the whole idea but whatever. I was too drunkenly in shock. But the room was nice and the whole thing was awesome but I am about to outdo him in awesomeness as a slightly delayed birthday surprise...which I am having trouble planning but I still have time.

F1 started again YAY but Bahrain was a total suckfest since it was the day we moved forward an hour, and the refueling ban is obviously dull. I went to an Atlanta F1 group meetup to watch it, and I just sat in a restaurant booth alone which was sad. I don't know if I'll go back at all. And now this weekend is Australia, and next weekend is Malaysia, which means that obviously GRAND PRIX TOUR EATING HAS TO START AGAIN since Malaysian food > everything else.

And now I am going to eat some french fries from Trader Joe's because I have a midterm in film tomorrow and I am unprepared.

FUUUUUUUUUU LIVEJOURNAL POP UP ADS I AM ABOUT TO LEAVE YOU.

So I have joined this website swap-bot.com and it's really fun.
I made ATCs (artist trading cards) once before, and they were probably crap, and now I have joined something to make them on playing cards, so I just made two. Idk if they are very good but whatever. I don't draw or paint, so I'm going to collage with magazines and catalogs and play with sharpies.
Here is one.

It's basically part of a Sephora catalog, random pieces out of some article in Vogue, along with parts of ads from Juicy Couture, Chanel, Michael Kors, and Ralph Lauren. Perfect for a queen!

Now today someone posted one that I think I definitely want to do.
You write a letter about where you live starting with an introduction a la John Steinbeck's Cannery Row:
"Cannery Row in Monterey in California is a poem, a stink, a grating noise, a quality of light, a tone, a habit, a nostalgia, a dream. Cannery Row is the gathered and scattered, tin and iron and rust and splintered wood, chipped pavement and weedy lots and junk heaps, sardine canneries of corrugated iron, honky tonks, restaurants and whore houses, and little crowded groceries, and laboratories and flophouses. Its inhabitants are, as the man once said, 'whores, pimps, gamblers and sons of bitches,' by which he meant Everybody. Had the man looked through another peephole he might have said, 'Saints and angels and martyrs and holy men,' and he would have meant the same thing."

So since I live on a rather busy and important street, I could do that. Or, I could do Buckhead in general, which could prove to be quite a bit more fun, especially since she only posted the very first sentence, and the entire paragraph includes a line about its inhabitants...sons of bitches...yeeeeeeees.

Buckhead in Atlanta in Georgia is a...I don't even know. I will work on that.
But I really want to read the book now. I love Steinbeck. I want to have a road trip to Monterey because of him...and well, Laguna Seca.
